Fill Your Pantry With Confidence

A hands-on Canning Camp at Sunset Highway Farm

¡ Saturday, November 21st
· All day: 9:30am–2:30pm
¡ Located at Sunset Highway Farm
¡ Only 10 seats available

Maybe you’ve got a canner sitting in the box because you’re nervous about doing it wrong. Or you’ve done a little water bath canning, but pressure canning feels like a whole different (and slightly scary) world.

You’re not alone. Most women I talk to want a pantry full of home-canned food. They just never had someone stand next to them and show them how.

That’s what this day is for.

Spend a full day with me in the farm kitchen. We’ll go hands-on with everything you need to start canning safely at home: water bath, pressure canning, and jams made without piles of sugar. You’ll learn what to do, why it works, and how to do it on your own, confidently.

What you’ll learn

🛡️ Canning Safety 101
The non-negotiables that keep your family safe: acidity, headspace, processing times, altitude adjustments, and how to tell a good seal from a bad one. Once you understand the why, canning stops feeling scary.

💧 Water bath canning
The perfect place to start. We’ll can high-acid foods like fruits, pickles and tomatoes, and you’ll see every step from prep to the “ping” of a sealed lid.

♨️ Pressure canning
This is where your pantry really grows: vegetables, meats, broths and ready-to-eat meals. I’ll walk you through the canner step by step until it feels like an old friend instead of something to be afraid of.

🍓 No-sugar jams with natural pectin
Bright, fruity jams without cups of sugar or a box of store-bought pectin. This is one of my favorite things to teach, and most canning classes skip it entirely.

Lunch Provided

Canning is hungry work! You’ll enjoy a homemade farm lunch and dessert, and plenty of time to ask questions, swap stories, and connect with other women who love this way of life as much as you do.

Because every woman needs a village, and a canning day is better with friends.

What you’ll take home

📖 My Canning Book (60+ full-color pages)

Every recipe, chart and step-by-step guide you need to keep canning long after camp. It covers processing times, safety checklists, and my family’s favorite recipes, all in one beautiful book you’ll reach for every season.

🎥 Online canning video lessons

Forget a step? Pull up the videos and watch it again in your own kitchen. It’s like having me right there with you when you set up your canner for the first time at home.

Questions you might have

Do I need to bring my own canner or jars?
Nope! Everything is provided. Just bring an apron and wear closed-toe shoes.

I’m a total beginner. Will I be lost?
Not at all. We start with the basics and build from there. Plenty of women in camp will have never canned before.

Are lunch and dessert included?
Yes! Let me know about any allergies or dietary needs when you register.
